The Jammu and Kashmir administration had extended PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti’s detention by three months under the Public Safety Act (PSA).

Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Mehbooba Mufti was released on Tuesday, after being detained for more than a year ahead of the Centre’s decision to abrogate Article 370 and being charged under the Public Safety Act (PSA), an official said.

“PDP boss Mehbooba Mufti is being delivered from detainment,” Rohit Kansal, said Jammu and Kashmir organization representative, said.

The updates on the PDP boss’ delivery was affirmed on her Twitter handle, which is being dealt with by her little girl Iltija. “As Ms Mufti’s illicit confinement at last reaches a conclusion, Id like to thank every individual who upheld me in these difficult stretches. I owe an obligation of appreciation to all of you. This is Iltija closing down. May Allah ensure you,” Mufti’s little girl said.

The Jammu and Kashmir organization had broadened her confinement by a quarter of a year in July. Mufti’s delivery came fourteen days after the Supreme Court asked the Jammu and Kashmir organization if the previous boss clergyman’s confinement under PSA can be stretched out past a year and, assuming this is the case, “how long do you propose to expand it”.
