Hearing a petition challenging the government’s decision, a Division Bench of justices Sanjib Banerjee and Arijit Banerjee asked if financial aid was being given for festivals such as Eid too.

The Calcutta High Court on Thursday asked the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government why it had decided to grant Rs 50,000 to each community Durga Puja committee in the state. On September 24, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had announced the grant and other incentives for the puja organisers.

Hearing a request testing the administration’s choice, a Division Bench of judges Sanjib Banerjee and Arijit Banerjee inquired as to whether budgetary guide was being given for celebrations, for example, Eid as well.

The court inquired as to whether rules had been set down for such consumptions as the puja coordinators were being given public cash. The adjudicators interrogated the administration concerning a diagram for swarm control during Durga Puja.

The supplication has been recorded by Center of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) pioneer Sourav Dutta, who asserted that the administration’s choice was not in a state of harmony with India’s mainstream goals and damages crucial rights set down in the Constitution.

Dutta has encouraged the court not to allow consent for the pujas this year to forestall a flood in Covid cases after the celebration. He brought up that specialists had cautioned that huge scope interest may prompt a tidal wave of Covid-19 contamination in the state.

The state organization told the adjudicators that the award was intended to help increment public mindfulness about Covid-19 conventions, and acquisition of sanitisers and veils.

The Bench taught Advocate General Kishore Dutta, who spoke to the state, and senior guide Bikash Bhattacharya, who showed up for the solicitor, to hold a meeting on the issue and educate the court regarding its result on Friday, when the case is heard once more.

Remarking on the issue, TMC secretary-general and state serve Partha Chatterjee stated, “I would prefer not to remark on the High Court’s perceptions. This isn’t only a celebration of Bengalis yet a whole race. Durga Puja is being held with all security and wellbeing conventions being kept up. The state government and puja committees are putting forth attempts to guarantee Covid contamination stays under tight restraints. They are holding mindfulness on the issue. The puja is being held remembering everything.”
